Joshua Allen, son of Julie Hanna and Joseph Allen, is this week’s Athlete of the Week.
He is a senior at Brentwood Academy and a member of the cross country and track teams. He has a personal best of 17:10 in a 5k and is one of the top varsity runners on the Cross Country Team.
Allen enrolled at BA when he was in middle school and decided to try track then. He said ever since, he’s been running.
When asked what inspires him to continue training and competing he said, “The thing that inspires me the most while training and competing is to be the best that I can be and challenging myself.”
One of his biggest role models is his mother. He said, “She works to her best ability to provide for my brother and I.”
He describes himself as self-driven and a leader. “I feel like a lot of the people on the team look up to me,” he said.
When he’s not running, Allen enjoys snowboarding, going on adventures, spending time with friends, and doing film and photography.
After graduating, he hopes to attend college to pursue a major in business administration or supply chain management.
