Carly Cooper, daughter of Dan and Lisa Cooper, is this week’s Athlete of the Week.
She is a senior at Ravenwood High School and a member of the Girls Volleyball Team. She plays the position of setter for the team. This season, she had four aces and 16 digs in one match.
Cooper started playing volleyball in elementary school with a club team and said that since then, she’s stayed with it.
When asked what inspires her to continue training and competing she said she is always trying “to get 1% better every time” she steps on the court.
RHS Volleyball Coach Abbey West said of Cooper, “Carly Cooper is a composed competitor who is someone her team has always been able to rely on. She’s smart, talented, dependable and an incredible teammate. Coop always puts the team’s needs first and will do everything in her power to help her teammates be successful. She is, without a doubt, an indispensable component to the success of our team.”
Her biggest role models are her parents for their constant encouragement.
When she’s not on the court, she enjoys playing volleyball for fun and spending time with her friends.
After graduating from college she plans to go to college where she will continue her volleyball career.
