Show him the money?

Jalen Ramsey took a different approach Wednesday when he reported for the start of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ training camp. He provided franchise officials — and the rest of the world — a visual representation of the type of payday he seeks as he enters his fourth NFL season.

The Brentwood Academy graduate arrived at the team’s training facility in the back of an armored truck and climbed out from amid a pile of moneybags, which presumably were not filled with the real thing.

An associate served as hype master and set the stage before the doors opened.

“Y’all know what time it is. … A man so good they’re fixing to give him his own jail, Jalen Towers, because these receivers are on 24-hour lockdown,” the man said, according to ESPN.com, which had video of the moment. “He’s got eight Master Locks in his pocket. They’re on lockdown all season. The man, the myth, Jalen Ramsey.”

The fifth overall pick in the 2016 draft out of Florida State, Ramsey is a two-time Pro Bowl cornerback and a 2017 first-team All-Pro. He has started every game of his career, has recorded nine interceptions and has built a reputation as one of the game’s most effective pass defenders.

Ramsey will earn slightly more than $3.6 million this season under the terms of his rookie contract but will get a bump to $13.703 million next season because the Jaguars exercised their fifth-year option on that deal.

As a result, he is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in 2021 but wants a long-term extension sooner rather than later. Jacksonville officials have said no new contract is coming this season.

Ramsey countered with the assertion that his price tag will increase the longer he waits.

“Next year, especially after I ball, they’re going to come to me [and say], ‘Hey, you know, we want to holler at you,” Ramsey said last month in a video posted to Instagram. “That number is going to be so ungodly. … They’re going to say, ‘Oh god, can’t we get a little discount, 20 percent off?’

“… I’m going to tell them last year you could have gotten that discount. This year, (more head shakes). I’m going to need all of that.”
