This Saturday the Brentwood Library’s Harry Potter Chamber of Knowledge will lend a helping hand to the Morning Rotary Club in their Adopt-A-Mile Road Clean-Up project.

At 8 a.m. on Oct. 8, the two groups will come together to raise environmental awareness by cleaning the adopted mile on Maryland Way from the YMCA to Granny White Pike.

The event still needs a few volunteers to help out, and those who register by the end of the day at the Library today, Oct. 4, will get a donut. Children ages 10 and older are welcome to attend, but parents or caregivers should plan to attend and supervise anyone younger than 16.

Parking for the event will be at the lot adjacent to the Brentwood Cleaners on Maryland Way. The groups will meet at 8 a.m. on Saturday rain or shine. As an added bonus, volunteers will be the first to get tickets to the Chamber’s Yule Ball in January.

The Chamber of Knowledge is part of the Harry Potter Alliance, a non-profit organization comprised of fans that want to change the world through the power of story. Since 2005 they’ve engaged millions of fans through work for equality, human rights and literacy.
