Every feel like no matter how much sleep you get, you’re still waking up tired? Everyone wants more sleep, and to feel more energized and excited about the day ahead. Elements Massage experts are here to help! Below are six tips that can help you catch more ZZZ’s.

Prep the night before. Pre-program the coffee, pick out your clothes and set an alarm. That way, you can wake up and start your day without stressing about what blouse matches your slacks and you can stop running around because you woke up too late.

Turn off all electronics 90 min before bed. The bright light from your cell phone or electronic device can delay your sleep period, making it harder to fall asleep at night. Instead of scrolling Instagram, pick up a book, try meditating or listen to relaxing music instead.

Set a routine. Have a regular wake-up time (this includes weekends)! Your body’s internal clock loves routine and this sets the tone for the rest of the day. Try getting into bed and falling asleep around the same time daily too. You even have a “go to bed” alarm on your phone, so now’s a great time to start using it.

Don’t press snooze. Hitting snooze disrupts your body’s natural wake up routine. The more you snooze, the more confused your brain and body get. Instead of hitting snooze, try and set a routine that includes 8 hours of sleep. Over time, your body will get used to your routine and you’ll wake up without an alarm!

Get moving. A morning workout can help you feel energized and prepared for the day. This study found that participants who exercised at 7 a.m. experienced deeper, longer sleep than those who got in a workout in the afternoon or evening.

Get a massage. It’s no secret that massage can help you relax. Did you know massage can also improve sleep, ease stress and help rejuvenate your body. A monthly massage keeps your body in good habit and allows you to continue to feel the benefits regularly. Find a studio near you to book your massage.
