Jake Brock, son of Cara and Steve Brock, is this week’s Athlete of the Week. He is a member of the Football Team and plays the position of safety.
This season, Brock said that his biggest highlights were beating Beech High School on Senior Night and winning a game against Henry County after being down 14-0 at halftime.
Brock’s father, Steve, is a football coach, so he spent a lot of time growing up around the sport. “I’ve always loved the game,” he said.
When asked what inspires him to continue training and competing he said, “I train and compete to be the best version of myself every day. I also compete and play football because I love the game.”
His top role model is his father. “He is a very hard worker and is always kind to everyone,” he said. “He always pushes me to be the best I can be and has helped make me who I am today.”
Brock describes himself as determined, friendly, confident and passionate. When he’s not competing on the field, he enjoys watching movies, exercising, spending time with friends and listening to music.
After graduating from BHS, he hopes to play college football and pursue a career as a doctor or a physical therapist.
