After a school bus crash yesterday left two people with minor injuries, Brentwood Police say the Ravenwood High School student taken to the hospital has been treated and released.

The bus driver also sustained injuries after he suffered from a “medical event” in the moments leading up to the crash, according to Brentwood Assistant Police Chief Tommy Walsh.

The driver’s current condition is not known.

Walsh said the bus was traveling north on Wilson’s Pike at approximately 3 p.m. when it ran off the right shoulder of the roadway, crossed over a culvert and struck an SUV.

At the time of the crash, the SUV was stopped at the exit of Morning Pointe assisted living center, just north of Moore’s Lane.

Brentwood Police tweeted a photo after the incident yesterday, reporting the bus had been coming from Ravenwood High School.
