Brentwood Home Page staff reports

A reader asked Thursday if we knew what’s up with the work on Concord Road near Sunset that was reportedly tying up traffic.

We went to our first source on such matters, Asst. City Manager Kirk Bednar, who usually knows everything about city roads and infrastructure and stuff. He was able to help …. a little.

“Columbia Gulf Gas company is doing work on their big transmission line on Concord Road just east of Sunset. It is not something the City is involved in or has any authority over,” he shared.

So our next stop was Columbia Gulf Gas company.

“We do have some work going on on Concord Road,” said Dale Hinson with Columbia Gulf. “In fact, we are finishing that work up probably today (Friday).”

Hinson added that he was not aware of any traffic issues or tie-ups in the area, but said drivers might be slowing down when they drove by to see what was going on.

“We’re not actually doing anything to the road,” said Hinson. “What we’re doing has nothing to do with the road, we’re just replacing some line up in that area and under the road.”
