Megan McMillan, daughter of Jennifer and Tom McMillan, is this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a junior at Brentwood High School and a member of the Varsity Cheerleading Team. She also has a GPA of 4.5 and is enrolled in all honors and AP classes.
McMillan said her biggest passion is cheer. “I’ve been a cheerleader for as long as I can remember and I don’t know what I would do without it,” she said.
Her top role model and inspiration is her older sister, Meredith. She said, “[Meredith] is someone I highly look up to. She is always there for me whenever I need her and I know I can turn to her for anything.”
AP Language and Composition with Mr. Grimes, McMillan said, is her favorite class at BHS. She said she appreciates how Grimes gets everyone in the class involved and “makes English seem really applicable to everyday life.”
She describes herself as responsible, tenacious, organized and enthusiastic. When she’s not in class or practicing for cheer, she enjoys participating in Young Life and Mu Alpha Theta.
After graduating from BHS, she hopes to go to college to pursue a career as an architect.
