Ahmeda Konteh, daughter of Sylvia and Ahmed Konteh, is a senior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of the Freshman Mentor Program at RHS, National Honor Society, Common Ground Club and Athletic Training for football. She was also named Spanish III Honors Most Outstanding Student.
Konteh said her biggest passion is helping others. She said one day, she hopes to become a pediatrician or surgeon so she can help children overcome health obstacles.
Her favorite class at RHS is EMS (Emergency Medical Services) with Mrs. Matusek. “I have an interest in going into the medical field and it is directly related to first aid,” she said.
One of her top role models is Nashville surgeon, Dr. Debbie Sherman. Konteh said she looks up to her because of her success in surgery, kindness and love for giving back to those in need.
Mr. Kaufman, Theatre I teacher at RHS said of Konteh, “Ahmeda is always willing to volunteer for the different activities in class and she always goes for it with her performances. She exudes a positive energy, is always smiling and that spreads throughout the classroom… an absolute gem to have in the classroom.”
After graduating from RHS, she plans to attend college. She is considering The University of Tennessee- Knoxville, The University of Alabama, Auburn University or the University of Georgia.
