The Brentwood-based direct health care company Premise Health has appointed Dr. Jonathan Leizman as its Chief Medical Officer.

Premise Health is a direct health care provider. In a direct health care model large, self-funded employers often pay for health care for their employees, rather than using traditional insurance plans.

Leizman was previously the medical director of Cleveland Clinic at Work. He led business and medical operations for several worksite health and occupational medicine sites. He also previously led Cleveland Clinic’s regional urgent care and express clinics.

At Premise Health Leizman will work with clinical teams, and will partner with innovation and strategy teams to improve health care access and delivery.

Previously, Dr. Peter Vasquez was the company’s most senior clinical leader, under the title of executive vice president of medical operations.

Vasquez worked with the company for 11 years and is now retiring. He will move into a part-time role while Leizman transitions into the Chief Medical Officer position.
