Ellen Sherwood Design in Brentwood, Tennessee is dedicated to providing expert knowledge and design, and the same is true for the newest member of the team, Chris Carlisle.

Carlisle is the Interior Designer and Showroom Manager at Ellen Sherwood Design and focuses mainly on collaborating with homeowners, designers and builders who are looking for kitchen and bath remodeling or new construction needs. Whether it be a small powder room or a whole house, Chris is there to help!

She has been in the interior design business for over 25 years, working with big names in the design community including Michael Taylor Designs, Therien Studio Workshops, Kneedler Fauchere, David Sutherland and Randolph and Hein.

Carlisle became passionate about her interior design career in Los Angeles, California while working at the Pacific Design Center with celebrities and top designers from all over the world. She was instrumental in opening up the flagship showroom for Michael Taylor Designs as well as developing the Los Angeles Designer Sales training program for Ethan Allan Corporate.

After living in Los Angeles, California for 17 years, she moved to the Nashville area to pursue her own interior design business, Carlisle Interiors and to be near her family in Franklin, Tennessee.

Over a six-year period, Carlisle was voted best interior designer with her company, Carlisle Interiors. She was awarded numerous awards including Nashville’s Toast of Music City (three-time winner), Nashville Scene’s Best of Nashville (four-time winner) and Williamson County’s Sizzle Award (two-time winner).

In the last several years Carlisle has focused primarily on kitchen and bath renovation, including time with ProSource, Cambria and now Ellen Sherwood Design.

Although Carlisle is very thoughtful in her career, she said that design has always been something of a gift she was born with. Along with her BA degree in Communications from Baldwin-Wallace College, she has had professional design training throughout her career.

Working with families and individuals during the design phase is Carlisle’s passion.  Interaction and clear communication with the client is the most important part of the design phase

“Attention to detail and clearly interpreting what homeowners envision for their home…making that come alive is my favorite part of the process,” Carlisle said.

“At Ellen Sherwood Design, we make sure the client has an understanding of their options and the functionality of materials to make sound decisions for their kitchen and bath design,” she said. “Lots of planning goes into the final design for the most aesthetically pleasing environment.”

Carlisle said collaborating with the Ellen Sherwood Design team, and the owners Alan and Michelle Sherwood is very exciting!

She added, “They’re a pleasure to work with and their company is comprised of a wonderful team of skilled fabricators, designers, cabinet designers, installers and schedulers for a smooth and enjoyable design experience!”

Ellen Sherwood Design not only has a beautiful showroom, but also has a fabrication shop where they handle all of the fabrication for countertops as well has displaying a wide variety of granite, marble and quartz including remnants.  Ellen Sherwood Design represents three exceptional cabinet lines, a variety of exquisite quartz offerings as well as gorgeous tile for backsplash, flooring, sinks and hardware.  It’s a one stop shop!

Ellen Sherwood Design was formerly Brentwood Granite and Cabinet Design, Carlisle said. However, for nearly the past two years, it has been under the new ownership of Alan and Michelle Sherwood.

“We are a destination showroom, but once you find us you’ll never need to go anywhere else for your Kitchen and Bath needs,” she said.

Ellen Sherwood Design is located at 7106 Crossroads Blvd. Ste. 222, Brentwood, TN 37027615-376-6122.  They are just a few minutes from the Cool Springs Mall. Ms. Carlisle will be happy to help when you visit!
