The combined firm will operate as Puryear & Noonan, CPAs.

Puryear & Noonan, CPAs will serve an extended client base, deliver a broad suite of tax and accounting services, and offer the latest technology platforms to its clients. The firms will also be combining their technology divisions to become P & N Technology Services, LLC.

Puryear, Hamilton, Hausman & Wood was initially established in 1962 as William Puryear & Co., when William P. Puryear began his certified public accounting practice in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. He built his practice around auditing, tax and personal financial planning services. Within the next 20 years the firm expanded, with the addition of three members: James Hamilton, Jeffrey Hausman and Ronald Wood.  In 1998, the firm became known as Puryear, Hamilton, Hausman & Wood, PLC, and has since added two additional members while operating in the Cool Springs area: Jami Pope and Troy Tschantz.

McKerley & Noonan, PC, was established in 1999 by Spike Noonan and Michael McKerley. The firm experienced tremendous growth, primarily from client referrals and expanded services. In 2007Susan Keffer joined the firm as partner and brought with her a wealth of tax experience.  Effective January 1, 2018, Justin Schellenberg was also added as a partner.

The firms have long maintained a close professional relationship and share a common philosophy in business practices and the top notch treatment of their clients. Previous talks of merger opportunities presented themselves in the past, but after Spike Noonan passed in March of 2018, the firms decided to bring those talks to fruition.

“We are very excited about the combination of our firms. Our client base and operating philosophies are very similar. This will allow us to expand our service base while continuing to provide excellent accounting and tax services to all of our clients,” Jeffrey Hausman, PHHW PLC Managing Member, said in a press release announcing the merger.

“We are looking forward to combining our staff with the firm where Spike began his career and had hoped to partner with on a number of occasions,” Susan Keffer, Managing Partner, McKerley & Noonan PC, said in the release.

The new firm will operate from its new headquarters located at 40 Burton Hills Boulevard, Suite 170, Nashville, Tennessee, 37215 and maintain a satellite office in the Cool Springs area at Six Corporate Centre, 830 Crescent Centre Drive, Suite 320, Franklin, Tennessee, 37067.
