The Nolensville Historical Society will be hosting its first Jingle & Mingle open house on Dec. 2 at the Historic Nolensville School.

The event will feature a wide variety of desserts prepared by Historical Society members and will also include a special visit by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

The open house is free, open to the public and lasts from 1 to 6 p.m. The Clauses are expected to arrive around 2 p.m.

Society member Juli King said that the group planned the event as a way to introduce itself and the Historic School Museum to more community members.

“We just want people to come and be exposed to the museum so they can see what we’re all about,” she said.

King suspects that a lot of Nolensville residents are like she was when she first moved to town a few years ago. They pass by the Historic Nolensville School, but they may not necessarily know much about it.

The Nolensville Historical Society has invited a variety of local civic leaders to the open house, and would like for anyone interested to drop by and try some desserts as well as some warm, wintry drinks like hot cider and hot chocolate.

“We’ve just tried to tell everybody if you’re interested, come by, come say hi,” King said.

The event will be held in the Historic School’s gymnasium, which has been the focus of a campaign by Nolensville Historical Society members the past few months. Those members have been raising money to “Cool the School,” by helping to raise money to install air conditioning in the gym.
