Down 2-0 at halftime, the Franklin Admirals boys’ soccer team made a comeback in the second half of its Senior Night to tie up the game 3-3 Thursday night at home.
Nolensville and Franklin both stepped onto the field last night determined to win. Nolensville started the game strong with two shots on goal that landed them two goals for the first half making it 2-0 at halftime.
Early into the second half player Finn Jacobs shot an upper 90 that landed right into the back of the net for Franklin making the score of the game now 2-1 and shortly after followed another goal scored by the Admirals from player Jonah Moffett that made it a tie game of 2-2.
Both teams at this point were giving it all that they had towards the last couple of minutes of second half. Davis Long was the one who made the comeback for Franklin, giving them a 3-2 lead.
With only a couple of minutes left of the game player Adrian Byasiima for Nolensville took a shot on goal in the penalty box that tied the game up once again, making the final score of the night 3-3.
“You know I thought we started out well, went and had a couple of early chances early on and then it was deflating the first two shots that Nolensville had so credit to them they had two great chances and two great finishes, so we dug ourselves a hole even though we thought we were playing well," said Franklin head coach Mike Burgoyne."
"Second half I thought we came out really strong, the message was first 10
minutes can we get a goal and they put pressure on them, and it felt like we had the game in control and went up 3-2 and then credit again to Nolensville the first shot they had on goal second half went in and tied the game up.”
