Paige Shea, daughter of Krissi and Preston Shea, is a senior at Battle Ground Academy and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is Class President and a member of the Varsity softball, golf, and soccer teams. In her sophomore and junior years, she was awarded the Golden Glove Award for softball. Her junior year, she was named an Athlete of the Week. She is also the co-leader of the Gaming Olympics Club.
Shea said her two biggest passions are her friends/ teammates and family. “They help ground me and provide me with all the happiness in the world,” she said. “My friends and teammates are the people who help me thrive each day.”
One of her top role models is former U.S. President Barack Obama. She said she looks up to him because “he always strives for what he wants achieved and is a genuine person even in the face of adversity.” She added, “I wish I could be like him and treat people how he treats them.”
Ms. Monfils, who teaches Algebra and Trigonometry at BGA, is Shea’s favorite teacher. “She really went the extra mile to help out me and my classmates,” she said.
After graduating from BGA, she plans to go to college for Hotel and Hospitality Management. One day, she would like to run her own hotel.
