After completing a four-peat in state tennis in overall team wins and for her doubles team, Brentwood High School senior Georgia Fischer is our 2019 Female Athlete of the Year for the school.

Fischer won her singles match in the team’s 2019 state title for D-I Large Class, and completed her fourth state title in the state doubles competition with teammate Alex Torre.

Her tennis coach Bud Robison said this of Fischer in our Athlete of the Week spotlight we ran in April.

“Georgia sets the bar high and achieves her goals,” he said. “If experience is an advantage, Georgia is multiple steps ahead of the competition. When I have questions, I regularly turn to her because her opinion is well-informed.”

She said she was inspired by her brother to play the sport and mentions pro Roger Federer as a role model.

“He is the best tennis player ever and conducts himself the best as well,” she said of the tennis player.

Fischer was named the 2019 Female Tennis Player of the Year at the WillCos last month.

She told the Home Page plans to attend Wofford College in the fall to play tennis and study orthodontics.
