The building where a Rite-Aid drugstore once operated on Murfreesboro Road/Highway 96 was recently being razed to ultimately make way for a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Franklin.

The announcement was made last August that Franklin would be getting two new Chick-fil-A restaurants, one at the southwest corner of Murfreesboro Road across from Williamson Square and the other in the Berry Farms neighborhood. Demolition of the former Rite-Aid building was underway this week.

Franklin is home to two other Chick-fil-A’s, one on Mallory Lane in Cool Springs and the other on Columbia Avenue at the southern end of town.

The Franklin Home Page has reached out to the restaurant’s media relations office for more details on when the new sites are expected to open.
