Nolensville High School will see one of its first true football stars play at the next level.
Rising senior and outside linebacker C.J. Ware announced Sunday his intent to play for the Miami University in Ohio.
“First off, I want to thank God for putting me in this situation,” he shared in his statement. “Without him, none of this would be possible. I want to thank my family and parents who made the sacrifices to help me achieve my dreams.”
He also thanked his coaches at NHS for believing in him and seeing his potential and the organization NPA for helping him through the recruitment process before unveiling his pick to join the Skyhawks.
The three-star recruit had offers from Louisville, Ball State, Memphis, MTSU and Toledo, among others, per 24/7 Sports.
For now, he’ll return to Nolensville for his senior season with the Knights this fall.
I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to pursue my dreams. One of my childhood dreams is playing college football! I’m truly grateful! 💯🙏🏾@wcsNHSpd @BuckFitz @NatlPlaymkrsAca @CoachTBarr @BallHawkU @grimesreginald @MiamiOHFootball @Martin_Miami_HC @CoachWhit_MU pic.twitter.com/KZC4EXk3VP
