After receiving an additional $100,000 in the town of Nolensville budget, the Nolensville Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD) is asking the community for financial support.
NVFD Board President Tom Seyfried took to the department’s Facebook page Thursday in a video appeal to the community for financial contributions.
“More people now know that we are served by a volunteer fire department, but what many don’t realize is that we depend heavily on donations from the citizens that we serve,” Seyfried said in the video.
The newly-launched fundraising program can be found at at GiveNVFD.org, along with specifics about what kind of equipment is still needed.
Some of that equipment includes extrication equipment, rescue airbags, engine and truck upgrades and funds for specialized training. A more detailed explanation of these needs can be found here.
Seyfried said recurring donations from the community would help provide training and equipment so the NVFD “can continue to provide the high level of service that Nolensville has come to expect.”
