STAFF REPORTS

The Nolensville Volunteer Fire Department will participate in the 2019 Nashville 9/11 Memorial Stair climb at the William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower on Sunday.

The 10th annual event serves as a memorial and remembrance to the sacrifices made by firefighters in the 9/11 attacks in 2001 that killed nearly 3,000 people including 343 firefighters.

At 7:30 a.m. 10 volunteers from NVFD will join other fighter fighters from across Middle Tennessee to climb 110 flights of stairs in full turnout gear in memory of those killed 18 years ago.

Community members are encouraged to attend the event as a way of supporting NVFD and remembering the fallen first responders who died in the Twin Towers.

According to the organizations Facebook page, all of the money for registration will go to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
