The Brentwood Lady Bruins volleyball team captured the match against the Franklin Lady Rebels 3-0 last Thursday night to go to 6-0 within their district. (25-18, 25-11, 25-9)

“I think our preparation in the preseason has paid off,” said Brentwood volleyball head coach Barbara Campbell. “We have high expectations for our team and that has helped us against really good teams.”

In the first set, Franklin started out with a 6-3 lead, but the Bruins came back to take charge 25-18.

“Our team got stuck in one rotation,” said Franklin volleyball head coach Amber Holzer.

“They [Brentwood] were challenging us from the service line. The difference for us in set one was that we were not strong enough in serve-receive.”

Brentwood started to flex their muscles in the second set, collecting timely aces and powerful kills to surge 25-11.

In the third set, Brentwood kept their eyes on the prize as they powered through to victory 25-9.

With this win, the Lady Bruins move to 24-2 on the year with a team that currently only has one senior.

“The chemistry on this team is awesome,” said Campbell. “They are all great teammates, and that makes it a lot of fun. Every player on the team carried themselves like they were seniors against a good Franklin team.”
