State Rep. Charles Sargent (R-Franklin) today announced he is endorsing Republican nominee Brandon Ogles in the Tennessee State House District 61 Race.
Ogles faces Democratic nominee Rebecca Purington in the general election, in which early voting began Wednesday.
According to a press release, Sargent, who is retiring after more than 20 years serving in the Tennessee General Assembly, is supporting Ogles in the upcoming general election because of his mentality as a conservative small business owner.
The release said Ogles wants to empower job creators and grow the local economy, while maintaining safe, high-standard schools, improving infrastructure, improving access to quality healthcare, and lowering costs.
“Brandon Ogles is a successful small business owner, and his real life experiences will tremendously benefit our General Assembly and the House Republican Caucus,” said Representative Sargent. “I am pleased to support him, and I encourage our citizens to vote for Brandon Ogles on November 6.”
“I am incredibly honored and humbled to receive the endorsement of my friend, Charles Sargent, as I seek election to represent the citizens of District 61 in the Tennessee House of Representatives,” Ogles said in the announcement. “Charles leaves behind an incredible legacy in Nashville and a lifetime of distinguished service to both our community and our state. I am fortunate to have his support, and I hope to continue his successful track record of service in the Tennessee General Assembly.”
Ogles is a lifelong resident of Williamson County. He and his wife, Grace, are parents to four young children. They attend Grassland Heights Baptist Church.
