The John P. Holt Brentwood Library has a variety of programs for the week of Sept. 2-8. Check out the details below:




Flow Into Joy Yoga will take place at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday where participants can where we will explore all the elements of a yoga practice – breath, positive affirmations, poses, meditation and relaxation — in the mixed-level class. 

The goal of this class to open your body, mind and spirit so that you may feel a newfound sense of joy in your life.

There is a $5 Class Fee with online registration.


The Scholastic Chess Club will take place on Wednesday at 5 p.m. for children ages 7-12. 

An onsite chess coach from the Nashville Chess Center will guide kids in beginning, intermediate and advanced strategies. Everyone child is welcome no matter your skill chess level, and boards are provided. 

There is a $10 fee that will be collected at the beginning of class, with online registration.


The Featured Program of the Week is It Looks Like Play which will take place on Thursday at 10 a.m.

The sensory program that provides the much-needed tactile experiences required by children to develop their brains to their full potential is open to children aged 9 months to 4 years and their parent and/or caregiver. 

Register for the free program in person or by calling (615)371-0090 ext. 8380. 

The Teen Anime Club will meet on Thursday at 4 p.m. for a free afternoon of Anime, snacks and fun monthly activities.


Games Club will take place on Friday at 4:30 p.m. where participants can play a variety of classic and new board games. The board games will be provided and the free program is open to children aged 6-12. Registration is required.


Story Time will take place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with songs, a story and a simple craft. The program is free with no registration required.


Gentle Yoga will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. with the goal of facilitating flexibility, strength, stamina, balance and a focus on proper breathing techniques. The all-level class has a $5 fee with online registration required.
