A new local sports bar is scheduled to open in the Nippers Corner area of Nashville near Brentwood in December.

Restaurant owners Sam Sanchez and Al Thomas are planning to open Sam’s Place, a sports themed restaurant, near the intersection of Edmondson Pike and Old Hickory Boulevard.

Sanchez and Thomas already own several restaurants in the Nashville Area. They opened a Sam’s Place in Belle Meade, as well as several Sam’s Sports Grills in Old Hickory, Hendersonville and Murfreesboro.

The owners also operate the steak house Sperrys, which has locations in Belle Meade and Cool Springs.

Director of operations Bob Tappan said the new restaurant will serve burgers, pizza, chicken tenders and wings. The restaurant will also have a bar.

“That particular side of Brentwood, just like many areas of Nashville, is growing and evolving,” Tappan said. “We thought it was a great spot and a good fit for our brand.”

Tappan said the restaurant will have elevated service and from-scratch cooking in a sports themed atmosphere.
