A suspect believed to be involved in a shooting in Spring Hill Tuesday night was arrested early Wednesday morning by Spring Hill police. The shooting took place on McCoury Lane in northern Spring Hill shortly before 7:30 p.m., sending one woman to Vanderbilt Hospital. Her condition could not be confirmed at this time.
The suspect was identified as 18 year-old Gabriel Pastrana from Rutherford County, and he was booked early Wednesday morning at 1:48 a.m. Pastrana is currently being held at the Williamson County Jail in Franklin on a $40,000 bond, and is being charged with aggravated assault.
Considered a Class C or D felony dependent on the circumstances, aggravated assault in Tennessee can carry with it a punishment of anywhere from two to 15 years in prison, with fines ranging anywhere from $5,000-$10,000.
Police believe Pastrana to be the sole shooter in the incident, and also believe the “victim of the shooting was not the intended target.”
