Carson Swinford went to be with our Lord on February 14, 2016 at the age of 54, after a brave battle with cancer.

Carson Swinford went to be with our Lord on February 14, 2016 at the age of 54, after a brave battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Lee and Ann Spillman Swinford, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marie; children, Cristen and Brandon Swinford; brother, Darrell Swinford and sister LeeAnn Nevitt, both of Lexington, Ky.

Carson was the Finance Director at the City of Brentwood for the past 15 years. He enjoyed his work and his co-workers, considering them his second family. He served on different government boards and professional organizations including graduating from Leadership Brentwood.

Carson will be remembered as a loving father, husband, sibling, son and loyal friend. He loved riding his bike and hiking in Percy Warner Park. He impressed others with his ability to be kind and caring in the most difficult of circumstances, never complaining once about his situation.

Lloyd Shadrach will conduct a service to honor Carson’s life. There will be a service held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, at Fellowship Bible Church, 1210 Franklin Road, Brentwood. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until time of the service at the church.
