Steven G. Walling, age 65, passed away May 2, 2019 at his home in Franklin, Tennessee.

Steve served on the Tennessee Highway Patrol and retired as Captain of the Patrol Division for the Brentwood Police Department January 30, 2011. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Springfield, Tennessee. Steve was first a good son, second a humble and kind servant, third a good husband, father, brother, uncle and continual steadfast friend. He was “Papa.”  His service with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and The City of Brentwood Police Department reflects those gifts in accolades and an abundance of love and support from all that knew him.  Steve was a nurturer and he loved his horses.  He shared a love for hunting and fishing with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Nature was his friend and solace.  He was a continual up lifter of others – always for the underdog.
