NHS faculty has nominated Tate Robertson for their Knights Making A Difference program this week.

Tate Robertson

Tate Robertson, son of Amy and Bill Thomas and Troy Robertson, is a freshman at Nolensville High School and this week’s Student of the Week.

One of his biggest passions is basketball. This year, he took the next step in pursuing his passion by joining the NHS Boys Basketball Team.

His favorite teachers at NHS are Ms. Volpe and Mr. Bass.

“Volpe has been patient with me all year,” Robertson said. “I am definitely not the best at math and struggle to comprehend it. She has helped me overcome the struggle.”

Of Bass, Robertson said, “[He] is always in a good mood and makes me laugh. We have a lot of our own jokes and I love taking Film… cannot wait till next year.”

Volpe said of Robertson, “He has turned frustration of math into a productive and rewarding one… He is more productive in class and listens more… he internalizes and thinks about his questions and sometimes answers them himself! His success has begun to show on his tests and quizzes. Hard work pays off!”

He said that Kobe Bryant is one of his top role models and inspirations for his ability to overcome adversity.

After graduating from NHS, he said he hopes to continue his basketball career in college.
