Alexis Ignatin, daughter of Kasey and Eric Ignatin, is this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a sophomore at Ravenwood High School. She is on the Straight A Honor Roll, a recipient of the Presidential Academic Award, and member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
She is a competitive cheerleader and a member of the RHS Dance Team. She also coaches a special abilities competitive cheer team called Superstars.
One of her biggest passions is cheer. She said, “I love cheer because it keeps me active and I meet a bunch of friends through it.”
Her favorite teacher at RHS is Mrs. Hawken. She said, “She challenges me to keep expanding my understanding in math.”
Hawken said of Ignatin, “I’m so happy to be working with Alexis this year! She has gotten off to a great start in math and also trying out for the sideline dance squad. Alexis is not afraid of hard work! I’m proud of her Raptor spirit.”
Ignatin said that her mother, Kasey, is her number one role model. “She is a pediatrician and helps me and my sister grow as people, athletes and students.”
After graduating from RHS, she plans to pursue a career as an interior designer and own her own cheerleading competition.
