Ansley Rosen, daughter of Chris and Kimberly Rosen, is a senior at Ravenwood High School and this week’s Student of the Week.
She is a member of theatre and Speech and Debate at RHS. Theatre is one of her greatest passions.
“I’ve really found a love for directing and creating through Ravenwood’s theatre department,” she said, adding that she has directed three shows.
This year, she directed a full length play. In years past, she has acted in several plays, something she said she is very proud of.
Her favorite teacher is Mr. Kaufman. “He’s supported me since freshman year through everything and I really appreciate him encouraging me to go out of my comfort zone,” she said.
Kaufman said of Rosen, “Ansley has grown so much in the four years that I have known her. She is an amazing director, knows how to work well with her peers and is very respected. She is not afraid to share her knowledge and loves to help coach her peers on the forensics team and in the theatre.
One of her biggest role models is singer, songwriter and actor David Bowie. “David Bowie embodies all the intricacies… the good, the bad, the strange… that I am drawn towards,” she said. “His fearlessness and creativity inspire me every day.”
After graduating from RHS this spring, she hopes to go to college to pursue a career in writing or film.
