School will soon be back in session for many Spring Hill kids, with those attending a school on the Maury County side of the city getting started as soon as Thursday. To help families who could use a little extra support this school year, Bostelman Automotive Group will be giving away 650 backpacks filled with school supplies this Saturday.

The giveaway will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Southway Auto Sales in Columbia, located at 2125 Carmack Boulevard, Columbia, Tenn., 38401. No registration or any other documentation is required to pick up a school supply-filled backpack, though supplies are limited and are given out on a first come, first served basis.

“It’s a nice backpack,” said Bostelman Automotive Manager Louann Gibbs. “We offer spiral notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons for the younger students, folders, rulers, pencil bags to hold all those supplies in. We’re also including this year a water bottle.”

The giveaway also limits one backpack per child, and asks the child be present when picking up a backpack.

Gibbs said Bostelman Automotive has been doing the backpack giveaway for years, and that it seemed to grow in size with each passing year.

“We interact with our community quite a bit,” Gibbs said. “There’s a real need in Maury County for children to have the supplies they need, and hopefully that will help with their education. We encourage them all to come out and get the kids started off on the right foot for the year.”

Bostelman Automotive has multiple locations across the Middle Tennessee area, with one right here in Spring Hill, and five in Columbia.
