The Salted Peace wellness center, which focuses on “natural ways to increase wellness to help the mind, body and soul,” officially opened for business Friday in The Crossings with a ceremonial ribbon cutting organized by the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce.

Co-owned by Rose Perrie and Sonia Morse, Salted Peace features a variety of natural therapy options such as a large salt room, an infrared sauna, and a vibrational frequency table.

“As we got older, we started hearing things like ‘chronic,’ ‘anxiety,’ and ‘medication,’ and I didn’t like those things,” Perrie said. “As I have chronic pains and anxiety, we were always looking for natural ways to get rid of that or reduce it. So here, we introduce you to Salted Peace.”

The social salt room, featuring reclining chairs, walls made of sea salt, 4,000 pounds of salt on the ground, and a salt generator that crushes salt and releases it into the air, can be used for a 45 minute session for $25. The center features two other individual salt rooms, aromatherapy rooms, and even a children’s room, set up with a projector to keep little ones entertained with movies.

“We have three salt therapy rooms that help with respiratory issues, helps with COPD, asthma, it helps with bronchitis, it’s great for sinuses, allergies,” Perrie said. “Another thing it’s good for is skin issues. It’s great for just a multitude of things; I could literally talk for hours, but I was told to keep it short.”

A Spring Hill resident since 1998, Perrie thanked the chamber for its support, calling it “the backbone of our city.” During the ceremony, guests helped themselves to apple pie smoothies from Power Up Nutrition, and coffee from the Fainting Goat Coffee shop, all eager to explore the new facility and its offerings.
