The search for a new Summit High School boys basketball has already reached its destination.

The school named East Nashville’s Jim Fey the new coach of the Spartans Thursday.

Fey has been with the East Nashville Eagles (formerly known as the East Literature Eagles) for some time now.

He’s fresh off leading the team to the 2019 Class AA state semifinals. He has some collegiate experience, as he started his coaching career with Trevecca.

He inherits a 13-13 Spartans squad that made the region round of the tournament and boasts promising young players Destin and Keaton Wade and Konata Werts.

Fey replaces Josh Goodwin, who left Summit last week to pursue other options.

The new Summit coach will be introduced Friday.
