The weekend is finally here, and thankfully there’s plenty of things going on around Spring Hill to keep you busy. While the weather isn’t looking particularly great, with around two to four inches of rain projected to fall through the weekend, thankfully many of the fun festivities will be indoors.

So grab that umbrella, throw on your some warm clothes and enjoy this weekend with this four great events.


Country Living Newbie Anniversary Celebration

Where: Country Living Newbie Custom Decor, 5294 Main Street, Spring Hill, TN 37174

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The custom decor business Country Living Newbie will be celebrating its one-year anniversary this Saturday featuring giveaways, games and discounts. Beyond the festivities, there will also be plenty of food courtesy of one of the store owners, Bill Walsh, grilling up some fine meats between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Walsh and Pam Jordan, the married couple who own the business, first began their venture at a flea market in Columbia, but after their wares became so popular they decided to open up their own shop in Spring Hill.


Free Family Campout

Where: Camp No. 1, 1020 Jackson Hill Road, Burns, TN 37029

When: Saturday, Sunday

The nonprofit organization Union Sportmen’s Alliance will be holding a free family campout at Montgomery Bell State Park this weekend from Saturday through Sunday, where families will get the chance to compete in a youth fishing derby, wildlife calling contest and other outdoor activities.

First announced last month, the event currently only has daytripper spaces left, and while these won’t allow for overnight camping, the still allow for participation in all the outdoor activities.

The first day of the event on Saturday will see a plethora of activities, such as the aforementioned fishing contest, archery practice and animal exhibit, as well as a youth calling contest for turkey, deer and predators, plenty of nature walks, as well as conservation and outdoor educational classes. Dinner will be provided the first night, as well as breakfast on Sunday.

Lotus Rising Yoga Grand Opening

Where: Lotus Rising Yoga, 5294 Main Street, Spring Hill, TN 37174

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Lotus Rising Yoga, a new yoga studio in Spring Hill, will be holding its grand opening this Saturday at 10 a.m., where guests can partake in free yoga classes, enjoy food and drink, as well as be entered in a drawing for a free month of yoga classes. Those who register for a class or membership on Saturday will also see 10% off their purchase.

Saturday will see Lotus Rising Yoga experts off a free beginner yoga class from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., a free buti yoga class from 11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., and a free vinyasa yoga class from 1:30 – 2 p.m.


First Friday’s Food Trucks at New South Marketplace

Where: Needle and Grain, 510 North Garden Street, Columbia, TN 38401

When: Friday, 5 – 8 p.m.

Held every first Friday of the month during summer time, First Friday’s Food Trucks will see dozens of offerings for guests, whether they’re looking for something sweet, salty, or even a treat for their canine companions.

Some of the food trucks featured at the event include Chivanda, Zander Pizza, Tennessee Tetercakes, M&M Plus Catering, Ooh La La Shaved Ice, Sweet Bakes Donuts and Cakes, and 4 Paws Pastries for the pups.
