A new elementary school under construction east of the Franklin city limits and south of Arno Road will be known as Creekside Elementary.

The Williamson County School Board voted in favor of the name at its March 25 meeting. Suggestions were gathered from the public in February. Of those names, the WCS School Naming Committee submitted three to the Superintendent which were then presented to the School Board for a final decision.

A waterway known as Toon Creek is near the site.

Creekside Elementary will open in the fall and share a building with Oak View Elementary until construction of its new facility is complete. The school, which will be located at 4239 Gosey Hill Road, will serve kindergarten through fifth grades.

It follows Thompson’s Station Elementary in Thompson’s Station, and Jordan Elementary, which both opened this past August.
