The Well Outreach mobile food drive

The Well Outreach volunteers help prepare food for an upcoming mobile food drive.

The Well Outreach food pantry is looking for 80 volunteers to help hand out 20,000 pounds of food this Friday in Columbia as part of one of its regular mobile food drives.

This week's drive will be held at Columbia Central High School, with would-be volunteers asked to arrive at the school by 8 a.m. The mobile food drive will be a "drive-through" drive, with those in need lining up in their vehicles as volunteers drop bags of food off in their trunks or back seats.

Proof of residency or other supporting documents are never required at The Well’s mobile food pantries. Anyone in need is welcome to receive food, with volunteers for the food drive in great need. Those interested in volunteering can learn more by clicking here

Like all of its mobile food pantries, The Well staff and volunteers will be handing out 20,000 pounds of food to those in need. In order to adhere to safety recommendations amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, those in need will be asked to stay in their vehicles, with volunteers delivering food directly to families’ trunks or back seats.
