Battle Ground Academy two-way football star and rising senior Garnett Hollis Jr. had his college future down to three teams: Purdue, Vanderbilt and Northwestern.
He shared over the weekend that he’ll stay a Wildcat and join Northwestern after he graduates in 2020.
“Northwestern was a perfect fit for me based off the academic standards and the opportunity to compete at a high level,” he shared in his Twitter announcement.
“I felt that Northwestern gave me the best opportunity to succeed on the football field and in life after football.”
Hollis will be sticking to the defensive side of football for college, a respected name at cornerback. Hollis also gives the BGA offense an added option in the receiving core.
Outside of Vandy and Purdue, the three-star prospect also had offers from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Rutgers, South Carolina and Louisville, per 24/7 Sports.
His BGA teammate Antonio Stevens revealed his choice of Purdue last week.
Hollis Jr. was recently the Home Page’s pick for BGA’s 2019 Male Athlete of the Year.
He’ll return to BGA for his senior season this fall.
