For his two-way excellence on the football field and his strong performance on the basketball court, Battle Ground Academy rising senior Garnett Hollis Jr. is our 2019 Male Athlete of the Year for the school.

Hollis was an all-region selection for Class AA’s Middle Region honors for his play in the defensive backfield and was a key factor in BGA’s high-powered offense.

The Wildcats made it to the D-II AA state finals but fell to rival Christ Presbyterian Academy.

Hollis also soared on the court, where he was a Home Page All-Williamson County selection.

He is getting collegiate looks as a cornerback, with offers from Vanderbilt, Purdue, Northwestern, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Louisville and South Carolina on the table, among others, per 24/7 Sports.

Rivals reports that Hollis is down to three schools for his pick: Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Purdue.

The site says he’ll make a decision on his birthday, June 22.
