You’re going to be hearing a lot more of Brentwood Academy’s Jordan James in the years to come.

The sophomore running back already has offers on the table from schools like Alabama, Tennessee and Vanderbilt (per 24/7 Sports), and posted a monstrous night for the Eagles Friday in the school’s 500th win.

He ran for 201 yards and four touchdowns, and averaged 13 yards a carry in the team’s 40-0 shutout of visiting West Toronto Prep.

The Eagles are once again state contenders, though they’ll have to face stout competition in MBA and McCallie this season to reach their fifth-straight title.

If James keeps this up, it won’t be very hard to get there.

That’s why he’s our City Cafe Player of the Week.

Honorable Mentions:

Franklin’s Guy Lipscomb (253 yards of offense, three touchdowns) had a big night against McGavock. His QB, Joshua Nichols, rushed for two scores of his own.

Brentwood QB Cade Granzow threw for 147 yards and rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns in the team’s win over CPA.

Summit QB Destin Wade had 195 yards passing for two touchdowns Friday night in the team’s 30-3 Homecoming win against Northwest. He also had a rushing touchdown for 38 yards.

BGA’s Briston Bennett rushed back a 85-yard kickoff return in the team’s loss to East Nashville, as well as another touchdown.

Fairview’s Anakin King and Garrett Wooten connected on three touchdowns in their win Friday.
