Page senior quarterback Zak Mizell accounted for six touchdowns and threw for an incredible 521 yards to be named this season’s first Franklin Home Page / Newk’s Player of the Week.

Mizell threw nearly 70 times in Friday’s 60-42 shootout loss at Lipscomb Academy, connecting with his receivers 45 times. He had three touchdowns passing and three touchdowns rushing.

The three-year starter is drawing interest from several colleges including Charleston Southern and Tennessee Tech. He also attended a Top Gun camp this summer.

Mizell had TD tosses of 23, 16 and 5 yards to three different receivers, and used his feet to score on runs of 5, 2 and 6 yards. His offensive outburst helped keep the Patriots in the game against the host Mustangs, trying to offset a 403-yard, 5-TD rushing performance by Lipscomb’s Deandre Tigg.
