Centennial running back / linebacker Tyrel Dodson is the Franklin Home Page / Newk’s Player of the Week after he had a dominant performance on both sides of the ball in Friday’s 28-23 playoff win over Franklin.

The junior playmaker had five carries for 51 yards and one touchdown on offense, and racked up 16 tackles (13 solo), four sacks, six tackles for loss, and one forced fumble on defense.

His lone touchdown of the night was on a 13-yard run to put CHS up 21-7 in the third quarter.

With the win, the Cougars (9-2) advanced to a second-round matchup at Hendersonville (10-1) on Friday.

Emanuel Hall, Centennial WR: Recorded six receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s 28-23 win over Franklin.

Daylen Johnson, Centennial DL: Intercepted Franklin quarterback Joe Critchlow at the 1-yard line with under a minute left in Friday’s game to seal the win for CHS.

Garrison Mathews, Franklin TE: Caught five passes for 115 yards and one touchdown.

Trent McDermott, Centennial S: Had a pick-six against Franklin.

Joe Critchlow, Franklin QB: Passed for 270 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Dom Childress, Independence RB: Rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown in 49-20 loss against Hendersonville.

Nate Johnson, Independence WR: Had six receptions for 106 yards.
