Independence wide receiver Nate Johnson is the Franklin Home Page / Newk’s Player of the Week after recording three receiving touchdowns in Friday’s 31-25 win against Marshall County.

His first touchdown of the night was a 47-yard reception from Andrew Bunch to go up 12-7 in the second quarter.

He later had a 19-yard touchdown grab to go up 19-14 late in the third quarter.

Johnson’s final receiving touchdown of the night came from eight yards out to go up 25-22.

He finished the game with six receptions for 121 yards.

The win put the Eagles at 2-0 on the year. They play in their first district contest this Friday against Summit (0-2).

Andrew Bunch, Independence QB: Recorded 165 passing yards, 22 rushing yards and four touchdowns (1 rush) against Marshall County.

Emanuel Hall, Centennial WR: Caught four passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s 28-21 win against Overton.

Connor Rietveld, Centennial QB: Completed 5-of-6 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 10 yards and one touchdown in Friday’s victory.

Michael Roberts, Page RB: Recorded 13 carries for 198 yards and a touchdown in Friday’s 33-7 win over Summit. He also had one reception for 36 yards in the contest.

Dom Childress, Independence RB: Rushed the ball 13 times for 139 yards and one touchdown.

Brice Milam, Franklin RB: Had 16 carries 115 yards and a touchdown in Friday’s victory.

Deon Sanders, Centennial RB: Scored the game-winning touchdown against Overton. He closed out with 27 carries for 102 yards and one score.

Michael Magochy, Page QB: Had 113 passing yards and three total touchdowns (1 rush) against Summit.

Joe Critchlow, Franklin QB: Completed 14-of-18 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns in 39-0 win over Clarksville Northeast. He also picked up 22 rushing yards.

Brice Milam, Franklin RB: Ran the ball 16 times for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Sean McMahan, Page DB: Racked up nine total tackles and one interception.
