Independence quarterback Andrew Bunch is the Newk’s Player of the Week after he scored six touchdowns in Friday’s 43-42 loss against Blackman.

Indy QB Andrew Bunch (10) had 484 yards of total offense Friday

He is the first repeat honoree of the season.

Bunch’s first touchdown of the game came on a 65-yard throw to wide receiver Nate Johnson to put the Eagles up 7-0 in the first quarter.

He scored twice in the second quarter on a 15-yard run and an 80-yard pass to WR Seth Huner to earn a 21-7 advantage

Indy increased the lead to 35-14 in the third quarter when Bunch scored touchdowns on an 8-yard pass to Adam Swayze and a 4-yard pass to Johnson.

His final touchdown pass was a 33-yard connection to Johnson early in the fourth quarter to give the Eagles a 42-14 advantage.

Bunch finished the night with 434 passing yards and 50 rushing yards.

The Eagles are on a bye week before they face district foe Centennial on Thursday, Oct. 9.

Nate Johnson, Independence WR: Had eight catches for 252 yards and three touchdowns against Blackman.

Deon Sanders, Centennial RB: Rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s 39-10 win against Mt. Juliet.

Clay Beathard, BGA QB: Passed for 150 yards and four touchdowns in 26-22 win over Pope John Paul II. He added 59 yards on the ground.

Ronald Cleveland, BGA RB: Had three receptions for 88 yards and three touchdowns against PJPII.

Michael Magochy, Page QB: Passed for 288 yards and three touchdowns in 23-22 overtime win against Forrest.

Malik Grimes, Franklin RB: Rushed for 50 yards and three touchdowns in 42-7 win over Lincoln County. He also added one reception for 24 yards.

Tyrel Dodson, Centennial RB/LB: Carried the ball five times for 74 yards and a touchdown Friday. On defense, he recorded eight total tackles (6 solo), one sack and a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Michael Roberts, Page RB: Had 29 rushing yards and nine receptions for 154 yards in Friday’s win.

Seth Huner, Independence WR: Hauled in eight passes for 158 yards and one score.

Dom Childress, Independence RB: Had 12 carries for 116 yards in Friday’s loss.

Chandler Stump, Centennial LB: Racked up eight total tackles (7 solo) and three sacks against Mt. Juliet.
